Pulev began the twelfth and final round with some renewed energy. A right hand to the head and a good body shot landed on Charr close to the final minute mark. The pain traded in the final 20 seconds, with neither landing anything significant.

At 43 years old, Pulev is remarkably now in line for Oleksandr Usyk ’s WBA heavyweight world title, who has a second collision with Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in two weeks.
