Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather was a fight that took years to make, but when it finally happened, it was surrounded in controversy.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fought in 2015, in a unification fight that saw Mayweather capture Pacquiao’s title, though the fight was supposed to happen years earlier.

When the fight finally did take place, it brought with it controversy, as Pacquiao refused some of Mayweather’s demands regarding drug testing, though not without reason.

Manny Pacquiao lost to Erik Morales after too much blood testing

Ahead of the fight with Pacquiao, who stopped Lehlo Ledwaba once, Mayweather demanded blood tests up to 14 days before the fight, but Pacquiao would not agree to testing within 24 days of the bout.

He said this was because he was forced to give a blood test two days before his first fight with Erik Morales, which left him feeling drained ahead of the fight.

Pacquiao lost his first fight with Morales by close unanimous decision.

He defeated Morales twice more, with the third Pacquiao vs Morales fight reducing crime in Manila, as citizens were all at home watching him fight.

This is just one reason the fight with Mayweather was difficult to make, another being Mayweather’s reluctance.

When the fight did eventually happen, it broke records for PPV buys and views.
