The latest International Boxing Hall of Fame class was announced earlier today, and those selected will be part of a Hall of Fame Ceremony weekend taking place 5-8 June 2025 in Canastota, NY. Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao was selected, and many regarded him as a lock from the start.

The surprising name was not because he didn’t earn it but because he’s been left out for whatever reason in years past, and that’s Vinny Pazienza. Considered one of the greatest comebacks in sports history, Pazienza had a significant place during his era, and his inspirational story has helped people worldwide get past whatever obstacles life has thrown at them. Paz has the biopic Bleed for This, which is currently available on MAX, and a new documentary is coming out in 2025 on A&E.

The rest of the class is deserving of such honor like Michael Nunn, Randy Gordon, Kenny Bayless, and the others. Here is the press release sent by the Hall of Fame with the details of the entire class and comments from them all.

The Class of 2025 includes Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao, “The Pazmanian Devil” Vinny Paz and Michael “Second To” Nunn in the Men’s Modern category; Yessica “Kika” Chavez, Anne Sophie Mathis and Mary Jo Sanders in the Women’s Modern category; Cathy “Cat” Davis in the Women’s Trailblazer category; referee Kenny Bayless, cut man Al Gavin (posthumous) andreferee Harry Gibbs (posthumous) in the Non-Participant category; broadcaster / journalist Randy Gordon and television producer Ross Greenburg in the Observer category; Rodrigo Valdez (posthumous) in the Old Timer category and Owen Swift (posthumous) in the Pioneer category.
