Mick Conlan vs Jack Bateson: All Results on September 5

Cain Lewis vs Erick Omar Lopez

In the featherweight division, it was Cain Lewis (9-0-1, 2 KOs) vs Erick Omar Lopez (17-31-3, 10 KOs) up next. Lewis started confidently, moving and landing smart combinations during the first two rounds. Lopez struggled to deal with the tempo set by Lewis, who cruised to victory, with the referee’s scorecard reading 40-36.

Kevin Cronin vs Grant Dennis

Next up on the Mick Conlan vs Jack Bateson undercard in the super middleweight division, it was Kevin Cronin (10-3-1, 5 KOs) vs the experienced Grant Dennis (19-15, 3 KOs). The opening round was competitive, with Dennis showing his experience, before Cronin increased the tempo in the next round, mixing his shots well. Dennis enjoyed promising moments, but the volume and quality came from Cronin, who deserved the 59-55 victory.

Dan Toward vs Khalid Ennachat

Next up was Dan Toward (7-1, 5 KOs) vs Khalid Ennachat (8-3, 2 KOs) in the middleweight division. Toward settled quickly, finding a consistent home for the left hand. He looked light on his feet, worked well off his jab, and was ultimately too sharp for Ennachat, who struggled to land in the early rounds. Toward countered effectively and stayed in control until the seventh, when Ennachat had his best spell. The Spaniard caught the Brit with a big right hand in the final round, leaving him on shaky legs, but Toward managed to survive the last 90 seconds to hear the final bell. The referee’s scorecard read 77-74 in favour of the Newcastle fighter.

Codie Smith vs Mario Vera

In the opening fight of the night, it was Codie Smith (7-0-1, 0 KOs) vs Mario Vera (8-8, 3 KOs) in the super featherweight division. It was a dominant performance from Smith, who stayed patient and looked sharp, picking his shots impressively throughout. Vera was unable to land much of note, and unsurprisingly the referee’s scorecard read 60-54.
