Oleksandr Usyk showed today that there is levels when it comes to the elite of the elite of boxing. He absolutely outclassed and dominated and knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 5th round to unify the heavyweight championship in front of over 90,000 at Wembley Stadium.

The Ukrainian became the first men’s boxer to become an undisputed champion for a third time, following previous reigns at cruiserweight (2018) and heavyweight (2024).

Oleksandr Usyk landed a shot behind Dubois ear, which you can clearly tell affected him to the point where he couldn’t get under his feet anymore. But Dubois did manage to get up, and that just only prolonged the inevitable of that being the beginning of the end. Usyk used precise punching to be able to get Dubois out of there. Flooring him again and to where Dubois couldn’t beat the 10 count. To sum it all up, Usyk performance was immaculate!

Who’s next?

When Usyk was asked during the post fight interview who would he like to fight next, he replied,

“Thirty-eight is a young guy, 38 is only the start,” Usyk said in the ring after.

“Maybe Tyson Fury,” Usyk said when asked who he will fight next.

“Maybe Derek Chisora, maybe Anthony Joshua, maybe Joseph Parker, I don’t know.”

“Next, I don’t know,” he added. “I want to rest. I want to spend time at home with my family, my wife and children, I want to rest for maybe two or three months and just rest.”

Usyk definitely has options right now. He’s at a point where he gets to pick and choose what he wants to do next. But for tonight, it is no doubt who the king of the heavyweight division is and arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
