A playful debate about fight promoters recently caught the attention of combat sports fans online. The conversation began after a post asked who would win in a fight between Dana White and Eddie Hearn. Both men are among the most recognizable figures in combat sports. White leads the UFC, while Hearn promotes boxing stars worldwide.
Former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya soon added his take on the unusual matchup. His response quickly circulated across social media. De La Hoya made an amusing claim about how he would fare against Hearn himself. However, his prediction about Hearn versus White surprised fans. “You know what’s hilarious? I can knock out Eddie Hearn in one punch,” De La Hoya said. He then added an unexpected twist to his statement.
“Eddie Hearn would probably beat Dana White. That’s the funny part. I’m for Eddie Hearn.” The comment immediately sparked reactions among MMA and boxing followers online. Some fans laughed at the idea of promoters fighting inside the ring. Others debated whether Hearn or White would actually win.

Neither promoter has ever competed professionally in combat sports. However, both are known for strong personalities and confidence. Dana White has spent decades leading the UFC’s rise in the global mixed martial arts scene. Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn has built Matchroom Boxing into one of the sport’s biggest promotional companies. Both figures often exchange sharp words with rivals across the combat sports landscape.
Ever since Dana White revealed his plans of Zuffa Boxing, his new promotion, the boxing world, including Eddie Hearn has been ticked off. Both White and Hearn has been taking shots at each other for a while now. While Hearn calls out UFC Boss for underpaying his fighters, White believes Eddie isn’t qualified enough to be a promoter.
Hearn’s latest remarks regarding UFC fighters were, “They’re sick as a dog. There’s no loyalty. Look at Aspinall, he gets his eyes gouged out and gets humiliated by UFC. Basically told everyone he’s a liar and a p---y.”
White left no opportunities for attacking Hearn either. Defending his latest venture, White said, “I don’t wanna sit here and smash Eddie Hearn or anything, but Eddie Hearn works for his dad. You know what I mean? He works for dad. I don’t think he’s come in and ever had any type of vision, whereas we do. We’re gonna change the entire sport.”

Because of these brutal remarks, a fantasy hypothetical bout between the two promoters sounds like an interesting idea to many combat sports fans. Whether this speculative bout will ever happen is next to impossible. Still, it is an exciting prospect to think about.
