The May 2 undercard for Zurdo Ramirez vs. David Benavidez has been announced.

Ramirez will headline the card, as he defends his WBA and WBO Cruiserweight Title. Meanwhile, Benavidez will move up from light heavyweight where he is the WBC champion in a bid to become a two-weight world champion.

In chief support, Jaime Munguia will challenge Armando “Toro” Reséndiz for the WBA Super Middleweight World Title. Munguia finalized the deal after Jermall Charlo reportedly pulled out. For Munguia, it’s a chance to become a two-division champion. For Reséndiz, it’s the first defense of the title he inherited following Terence Crawford’s retirement.

“I’m very happy to be stepping into the ring with a great fighter like Jaime Munguia, who’s been competing at this level for a long time. For me, this is a big challenge and a huge motivation. These are the kinds of fights I’ve always dreamed about – facing the best names in the sport and proving that I belong at this level,” Reséndiz

“I’m very excited to be back, especially to fight for a world title against a fellow Mexican. I’m truly grateful to my team, and everyone who made this fight possible. We’re ready to come out victorious on this great night for Mexico,” Munguía

Lastly, Isaac Lucero will box Alan Sandoval in a junior middleweight clash. Lucero has stopped his last 7 opponents, while Sandoval has stopped 13 from his last 14 opponents.
