If there were fans still questioning at this point whether Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was a “real fight,” then all of those can now be answered. FightsATW has been told that referee Mark Calo-oy has been assigned as the referee for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Also, the judges assigned to this fight are all from Texas and have been appointed by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
Calo-oy has been a referee since 2003 while mainly working fights in Texas. He has refereed 445 bouts and will have one of the hardest jobs ever: making sure Paul vs. Tyson goes without a hitch. With Tyson’s slap heard worldwide during Friday’s weigh-in, Calo-oy has to establish order from the start, as things can escalate pretty quickly if he doesn’t.
We are just hours away from the mega event, and with Netflix driving the streaming bus, Paul vs. Tyson is already trending to become the most-watched boxing event of all time. Can Tyson, at 58, deliver one last great performance, or will the younger but less experienced Paul come out victorious?
