In a stunning comeback announcement. Former world champion and 2024 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Ricky Hatton will end his 13-year retirement on December 2, when he faces Eisa Al Dah in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The fight was officially revealed Sunday during a show promoted by Al Dah in Dubai. The 46-year-old Hatton was originally scheduled for an in-person face off. But was forced to miss it due to an eye injury sustained during the kickoff of Oasis’ reunion tour in Cardiff, Wales. A virtual announcement was held instead, with Hatton expressing excitement for the bout and hopes for an in person press event soon.
Fight! Fight! Fight!
It’s official.

“I’m very much looking forward to it myself,” said Hatton (45–3, 32 KOs). “What you’re trying to do there for boxing in Dubai is fantastic. Hopefully this will be a spinoff for more events and we can get the ball rolling with a bang.”
Despite his remarkable career and fanfare. Ricky Hatton fell short in the two biggest fights of his career high profile showdowns against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Both considered among the greatest fighters of all time.
In 2007, Ricky Hatton faced the undefeated Mayweather in Las Vegas in a massive welterweight clash. Though he started aggressively, Mayweather’s precision and timing ultimately led to a 10th-round TKO, handing Hatton his first professional loss. In 2009, Hatton stepped in against Pacquiao in another super-fight, but was overwhelmed by the Filipino’s speed and power. The bout ended in devastating fashion with a second-round knockout, one of the most brutal KOs in modern boxing history.
While those defeats exposed the limits of Hatton’s style against elite technicians at the top level, they did little to tarnish his legacy. He remained one of the most beloved figures in British boxing history, admired for his heart, courage, and connection with fans.
