Floyd Mayweather has come under fire from a well-known fighter over his decision to take on Mike Tyson.
The two boxing legends revealed on Thursday that they will meet in an exhibition bout in 2026.
Tyson and Mayweather have had a simmering rivalry ever since Tyson took exception to Mayweather claiming he was greater than Muhammad Ali.

The fight is expected to draw massive attention, though not everyone is thrilled. Another boxer expressed frustration, wishing it had been him who secured the fight with Mayweather.
Mayweather has been inactive for some time now and, aged 47, he’s unlikely going to return against someone still active in the sport.
While both are well past their primes, their names alone carry enormous weight in boxing. The event would attract global interest regardless of their current form or age. Both men have remained cultural icons long after their professional careers ended, ensuring strong pay-per-view sales based on name recognition alone.
Ryan Garcia would have relished the chance to share the ring with Floyd Mayweather.
Even though it would have been an exhibition, a matchup between ‘King Ry’ and the unbeaten legend still would have drawn plenty of attention.
Floyd should’ve just fought me ♂️

After hearing about Mayweather’s plans, Garcia didn’t hold back his feelings.
He posted on X: “Floyd should’ve just fought me.”
Either way, Garcia won’t be getting the fight he wants, with Mayweather set to face Mike Tyson instead. The two have met before, though.
During one encounter, the former heavyweight champion decided to test Mayweather’s nerves. Tyson playfully feinted a punch in Mayweather’s direction and caught him off guard, but Mayweather stayed composed and even smiled back at Tyson.
