At Thursday morning’s official weigh-in ahead of the scheduled ceremonial one streaming live on YouTube, all eight fighters participating in Friday’s fight card live from Times Square, NYC, made weight.
There was little doubt that we would have any scale fails on Thursday as four (Ryan Garcia, Rolando Romero, Devin Haney & Jose Ramirez) of the eight fighters were moving up from where they fought previously. The real question came when. Teofimo Lopez and Arnold Barboza Jr. stepped on the scale, and, with both being professional, they came underneath the junior welterweight limit of 140 pounds.
We officially have a fight card on Friday night in what looks to be a historic event in the middle of NYC.
