Sam Goodman comfortably beat a boxer who had moments of success against Naoya Inoue.
In his career, ‘The Monster’ has proven himself as one of the scariest fighters of all time.
Inoue has knocked out Juan Payano in the first round, finished Luis Nery and won the World Boxing Super Series.
However, along the way, he’s had to overcome some tough challenges.
WOW: Naoya Inoue was wobbled by a boxing legend during a thrilling world title fight
On September 3, 2024, Naoya Inoue defended his undisputed super bantamweight titles against TJ Doheny.
While the Irishman ultimately came up short, he provided a very stern test for the Japanese star, utilizing his size and strength to land powerful shots both upstairs and downstairs.
However, Sam Goodman, who’s scheduled to take on Nick Ball later tonight, had no such trouble when he fought the former IBF King on March 12, 2023, inside the Sydney SuperDome in Australia.
Showcasing his tremendous footwork and shot selection, the Aussie dominated the early portion of the contest.
As the bout progressed, he began to get more aggressive, scoring a knockdown, en route to winning via unanimous decision.
Last year, Goodman was scheduled to get his shot against Inoue.
While an underdog going into the clash, ‘Sammy the Ghost’ was confident he had the skills to pull off the upset.
However, he never ended up getting his opportunity to trade leather with the pound-for-pound great.
Bizarrely, Goodman’s shot at Inoue was ruined by Nick Ball’s teammate.
