Sara Bailey, the WBA World Champion, is set to face Evelin Nazarena Bermudez, the IBF and WBO World Champion, in a junior flyweight clash on Saturday, as we preview this fight.

Bailey enters the ring with a record of 6-0. This will be her first attempt to unify titles, as she secured the WBA belt with a win over Guadalupe Bautista. She has won her last two bouts, beating Anabel Ortiz and Cristina Navarro, respectively. Meanwhile, Nazarena Bermudez has a record of 21-1-1 and holds both the IBF and WBO belts. She won the IBF belt by beating Tamara Elisabeth Demarco in 2021 after which she added the WBO title with a victory against Debora Rengifo. Bermudez has made six successful defenses, as she seeks to add the IBF title.

Now I have the chance to unify three titles and continue on the road to becoming undisputed. I’m grateful to my team, my coach and manager Stevie Bailey, and everyone who’s supported me along the way. This is for all of us,” Bailey said

“This is the kind of fight that defines careers. Sara Bailey is on the verge of superstardom, and Evelin Bermudez is one of the sport’s most accomplished champions. We’re proud to bring this world-class event to Ottawa,” Tyler Buxton (President of United Boxing Promotions)
