Despite William Zepeda’s reputation as one of the lightweight division’s most relentless power punchers, Stevenson isn’t impressed. In fact, he’s outright dismissing it. Zepeda, known for his high-volume pressure and knockout ability, poses a stylistic threat on paper but Stevenson remains unfazed, confident that his precision, timing, and underrated power will be the difference.
As the verbal jabs heat up, the tension is rising between two undefeated fighters. Stevenson made an very interesting comment to Zepeda.
“I punch harder than you,” Stevenson said. “I guarantee you, I punch way harder than you. You got 27 knockouts. I got 11 knockouts, and I punch harder than you. Remember that.”
Now considering that Stevenson’s isn’t known for stopping fighters. Nobody associates Shakur Stevenson as a hard puncher so for him to say hasn’t definitely raised some eyebrows. We understand that just because you aren’t a knockout artist, that doesn’t mean that you don’t come with any power. We just don’t see Stevenson as being known as a hard puncher.
Shakur Stevenson tells The Ring that he punches harder than William Zepeda, as he sends a message to his opponent on July 12th.
