Shakur Stevenson is back on social media airing concerns about the size gap in a potential fight with Devin Haney, questioning whether he should be expected to give up a major physical advantage.
"So let me ask yall something I have to move up from 135 to 140 to 147 all in 3 fights back to back and allow Devin to come in the ring at 170 pounds while I weigh 148 for it to be fair to yall? After I just scratched the 144 catch weight I really want to know," Stevenson
Stevenson says he's dropped his demand for a 144-pound catchweight, though he's still questioning fairness at the full welterweight limit. The ring-walk weights he cited are his own estimates, not certified figures, and nothing suggests Haney's camp has agreed to any terms. The concern is understandable given the jump through three weight classes in consecutive fights.
