Adding to Saturday’s boxing bonanza is this Salita Promotions event in Puerto Rico, where junior welterweight contenders Subriel Matias (21-2, 21 KOs) and Gabriel Valenzuela (30-3-1, 17 KOs) will face off as the winner gets a shot at the IBF champion Richardson Hitchins. On Friday afternoon, both fighters came underneath the 140-pound limit, making their main event official for Saturday night.
Matias is currently a 3-1 betting favorite as he looks to get a shot at the title he lost a year ago, while Valenzuela aims to get his crack at a world title if he can score the upset.
