ESPN & Top Rank return to Japan to host back-to-back title fights beginning on Sunday morning here in the States on ESPN+. WBA bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue (20-1, 5 KOs) will defend his title against the undefeated Seiya Tsutsumi (11-0-2, 8 KOs) at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo. The card has four title fights in total, with the winners potentially being pegged for bigger fights next year within their respective divisions.
For Inoue, this will be the third time he fights this year with his May fight resulting in a unanimous decision victory over Sho Ishida. If successful, Inoue could head towards a showdown with WBC champion Junto Nakatani in the spring. Another solid performance will make that fight one of the most anticipated next year.
This will only be the second fight in 2024 for Tsutsumi, with his last fight in July against Weerawat Noolae resulting in a fourth-round TKO. Tsutsumi has some punching power, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can stop Inoue before the fight reaches the final bell, which would lead to an odds upset.
Per BetMGM, Takuma Inoue is the favorite at -300, and Seiya Tsutsumi is the underdog at +240.
These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
