Robert Garcia believes Teofimo Lopez would defeat Shakur Stevenson.
The former IBF junior lightweight champion thinks the power puncher’s mentality gives him the edge.
In an interview with ESNews, he said: “Man, I love that fight, but I don’t know, I pick Teofimo.
“I like Teofimo, that’s why, because I like him, you know, Shakur’s cool too, but I think Teofimo, with his dad, I kind of get along very well, but Shakur is very respectful, him and his team are very respectful, so I hate to go against him.
Talent-wise Shakur is probably better, but I just like Teofimo’s heart and mentality, more like a true warrior.”
While Garcia favors Lopez in a showdown with Stevenson, ‘The Takeover’ isn’t invincible.
The boxer famously got dropped by George Kambosos Jr., en route to a shock defeat.
And behind closed doors, things don’t always go his way either.
On one occasion, Lopez was knocked down in sparring.
