Just a month after becoming a three-division undisputed champion, Terence Crawford now has an opportunity to further cement his place in boxing history.
With his future plans still not confirmed, the unbeaten star has yet to schedule his return following the win over Canelo Alvarez for the super middleweight title.
And with no shortage of options ahead, there’s talk that the next step could involve something truly historic.
The former light welterweight and welterweight champion has been presented with an opportunity to make history by unifying all four major world titles across multiple weight classes — an achievement no one else has managed before.
In a win that rewrote the record books, Crawford became the first male fighter in the four-belt era to claim undisputed titles in three separate weight classes.
There’s been talk of him either moving up to light heavyweight or dropping down to middleweight. Now, an unbeaten champion has publicly challenged him for a potential fight next May.
“What do you guys think about this? By next May, I’ll have all four belts. And if by then (Terence) Crawford is still holding all four in his division, we’ll have a clash of two undisputed champions in the fall of 2025,” Alimkhanuly posted on X.
The undefeated 17-0 Alimkhanuly is slated for a middleweight unification bout with Erislandy Lara later this year and has set his sights on matching Crawford’s achievements.
A rising British contender who was previously eyeing a super fight with Canelo has now shifted his attention toward Crawford.
Hamzah Sheeraz, who remains unbeaten, was once seen as a strong option to face Canelo following the Mexican’s bout with Crawford. Now though, he seems more interested in lining up a fight against the American instead.
