Floyd Mayweather’s unbeaten record stands out in boxing history, and Terence Crawford thinks there was only one possible way it could’ve been broken.

Mayweather is considered by many to be the greatest boxer of all time, finishing his career with a perfect 50-0 record.

He wasn’t just known for his talent inside the ring either. Mayweather is also boxing’s biggest box office draw, holding the record for most pay-per-view sales.

Over his career, he faced plenty of high-profile opponents. From a young Canelo Alvarez to Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather always found a way to come out on top.

Terence Crawford’s funny take on how to beat Floyd Mayweather

During Mayweather’s career, there were few moments where it looked like he was at risk of losing.

Because of that, he earned respect from fighters across different eras, including those still rising through the sport today. One of them is Terence Crawford.

Crawford has a huge challenge ahead in September when he faces Canelo Alvarez for the super middleweight title, a fight that could define his legacy.

Canelo took his first professional loss against Mayweather back in 2013. Crawford never fought Mayweather himself, but said he would have considered it back then even though they’re close now.

“Floyd yeah (I would’ve fought him) because I wasn’t as close, me and Floyd are close now but when Floyd was boxing I wasn’t as close with Floyd like I am now,” Crawford said on the Ring Champs podcast.

And when asked how someone could have possibly beaten Mayweather during his career, Crawford joked:

“You’ve got to have four arms and six eyes to beat Floyd.”

Mayweather backs Crawford as top pound-for-pound fighter

Mayweather has been vocal about his thoughts on the upcoming Canelo vs Crawford fight, saying that Canelo was a “cake walk” for him and “easy work.”

He didn’t stop there. Mayweather also gave credit to Crawford as the current pound-for-pound best boxer in the world and said he would be backing his fellow American.

If Crawford manages to pull off what many believe is impossible on September 13, there’s no doubt he’ll solidify himself as the top pound-for-pound fighter in boxing.
