Terence Crawford and Tim Tszyu recently shared a lighter moment inside the Tszyu Boxing Academy.
The meeting came as part of a Main Event TV feature, with the Australian star closing his camp for Denis Nurja on 5 April.
And their conversation quickly became a talking point after an unexpected admission from ‘Bud’ that caught Tszyu completely off guard.
During the interaction, Tszyu asked what appeared a straightforward question about diet. However, Crawford’s response revealed a surprising weakness: sugar.
“What about sugar?” the Australian boxer asked.
“That’s my kryptonite. I eat too much candy and snacks,” Crawford replied.
Tszyu then questioned: “But not during camp, right?”
“Yeah, hell yeah,” ‘Bud’ answered, leaving the 31-year-old surprised.
The moment stood out because of Crawford’s reputation and career. He is widely regarded as one of the best boxers of his generation, holding titles over five different weight classes and retiring with a 42-0 record.
The connection between the two fighters extends beyond that meeting. Crawford has previously revealed he attempted to secure a fight against the Australian star in 2024.
He explained that discussions did not progress, with Tszyu’s side opting to fight Sebastian Fundora.
After that bout, Crawford pursued Fundora. However, he stated that those involved preferred ‘The Towering Inferno’ to face Errol Spence Jr, despite ‘Bud’ already defeating him.
