Tim Bradley believes Gervonta Davis is no longer focused on the sport of boxing, raising doubts over his future at the top level.
Davis raised controversy this year when he stated that he wanted to box three more times with a view to retiring. This was said before the Lamont Roach Jr. fight, with Tank stating that he wanted to focus on life outside of boxing, including his real estate portfolio. Those comments put doubts that fans would see Tank in the biggest fights, amid constant links with the likes of Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney.
Things went from bad to worse after Tank’s controversial majority draw against Lamont Roach Jr. Tank was lucky not to suffer a defeat after the referee failed to give Roach a 10-8 round after Davis took a voluntary knee in round nine. Although there is an expectation that a rematch will happen, Davis was recently arrested following allegations that he struck his ex-girlfriend during a verbal altercation on June 15.
According to reports, Davis was accused of hitting the woman in the back of the head and slapping her. While he has been released, is he in the right frame of mind to fight? All those factors may now raise doubts over his ability to perform at the top level. Bradley even went so far as to state that Davis would lose to 46-year-old Manny Pacquiao next amid reports the latter wants to face him after the Filipino suffered a majority draw against Mario Barrios on his comeback.

“I know ya’ll Tank fans are gonna come at me, ‘oh, you don’t know.’ I’m telling you. And if he gets in that ring and he ain’t all the way focused, bro, he’s gonna get beat by Manny Pacquiao – by Manny Pacquiao. If they’re gonna do it he’s gonna get beat by Manny Pacquiao if he ain’t all the way focused in the ring, seriously. That’s my take on Tank, man. I think he’s done. It’s the issues outside of the ring. It’s the fact that he wants to change,” Bradley said
