Tim Tszyu says he wants to bring WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara to Australia for a December title fight, continuing his push to become a two-time world champion.

"We sat down with the team, spoke about different options, and to become a two-time world champion is part of the plans. That's what I'm chasing, against a guy called Lara," Tszyu

Tszyu is riding a three-fight win streak since returning to fight in Australia, including a decision win over Errol Spence Jr. in July in his first fight at middleweight. He's currently ranked No. 4 in the WBA's 160-pound rankings.

Lara has held the WBA title since a first-round knockout of Thomas LaManna in 2021, defending it four times, most recently with a decision win over Johan Gonzalez in December. Negotiations could move smoothly given the existing relationship between Tszyu's promoter, No Limit Boxing, and Lara's team at Premier Boxing Champions.
