Tyson Fury is seemingly gearing up for a return to the boxing world, with his former foe Oleksandr Usyk in his sights.
Although Joseph Parker is campaigning for a fight with Usyk, Fury has also expressed a clear desire to face the Ukrainian for a third time.
Fury announced his retirement just weeks after his second consecutive loss to Usyk, despite rumors of an all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua.
Whether or not Fury returns to fight Usyk is still unconfirmed. However, the ‘Gypsy King’s’ coach recently reacted to a potential matchup.
Head coach of Fury, SugarHill Steward has been alongside the British heavyweight for both fights against Usyk.
In a recent interview with Seconds Out, the trainer of the former world champion was asked about who could be next for Usyk.
Steward was posed with the question of who was more deserving to face Usyk, Fury or Parker. However, he was not eager to answer the question.
“I don’t have a feeling,” Steward said. “If you know me by now, you know I’m one of the simplest guys. I don’t care about a lot of stuff.”
Seemingly displeased with the question, Fury’s coach went on to say, “I don’t care about Joseph Parker, or who has the right to be facing Usyk next. I don’t care what somebody else said, It doesn’t bother me.”
Steward then directed his frustration towards the interviewer by saying, “If you ask me some good questions other than this, ‘he said, she said’, then we could have a better interview, and my time is running short.”
The coach finishes by saying, “I don’t like all that stuff. Ask me some questions related to boxing knowledge. Not ‘he said, she said’, please.”
Wladimir Klitschko is another heavyweight who has hinted at a return to the ring, despite being inactive since 2017.
Klitschko recently expressed a desire to return to the sport; however, the 49-year-old has not yet been confirmed to come back.
When asked about Klitschko calling out Fury for a return fight, Steward had another disregarding response.
“You guys hear so much more than I hear,” Steward said. “I don’t know. I’m not really interested in that fight either… I don’t read the boxing news everyday.”
