For the first time since 2022, Texas Longhorns baseball will begin its NCAA Tournament run at home.
On Sunday, Texas was named one of the 16 regional hosts for the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament.
It marks the 38th time in program history that Texas has earned hosting rights — fitting for a program long considered one of college baseball’s blue bloods.
Texas enters the postseason with a 42-12 overall record under first-year head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
The team is looking to snap a four-year absence from the College World Series, and a strong showing in Austin could be the first step in getting back to Omaha.
On Monday, the full Austin Regional field was revealed.
The Longhorns will be joined by the Houston Christian Huskies, Kansas State Wildcats and University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners.
Texas earned the No. 2 overall national seed, giving it home-field advantage through the super regional round if it advances.

The Longhorns will open their regional against Houston Christian, while Kansas State and UTSA will square off in the other first-round matchup. The four-team, double-elimination format begins Friday.
There’s pressure, of course, but there’s also plenty of optimism.
Texas features a deep lineup and steady pitching staff that has delivered all season.
Hosting at UFCU Disch-Falk Field gives the Longhorns a familiar environment and fan base eager to see this team make a deep run.
With the bracket set and the road ahead clear, the Longhorns are officially back in the mix — and hoping this is the year they return to college baseball’s biggest stage.
