Class of 2026 four-star recruit Ethan Taylor has trimmed his list of schools to six, and the Kansas Jayhawks are still in the hunt, per Joe Tipton.

Taylor, a 7-foot center from Shawnee, Kansas, is ranked as the No. 2 big man and the No. 24 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to On3.

He’s also considering Michigan State, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Oregon, and Indiana.

While KU made the cut, Taylor has been a popular target across the Big 12, holding offers from Houston, Baylor, and Kansas State. He will spend his senior season at powerhouse Link Academy in Missouri before heading to the college ranks.

Taylor has scheduled official visits to all six finalists, with his Kansas trip set for Sept. 26-28.

For Bill Self and the Jayhawks, adding a player of Taylor’s caliber would be a major win in back-to-back recruiting cycles.

Kansas finished 21-13 last season, falling to Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but reloaded with five-star guard Darryn Peterson and four-star guard Kohl Rosario for the 2025-26 campaign.

With veteran returners anchoring the lineup, including center Flory Bidunga, and a deep bench, the Jayhawks will be in the mix to contend for the Big 12 crown.

KU has not made it past the second round of March Madness since its National Championship run in 2022.
