Ace Bailey Shares Priceless Response About His 2025 NBA Draft Profile

The 2025 NBA Draft is over a month away, as the top prospects outside the league will have to wait until June 25 to hopefully have their names called on stage at the Barclays Center as one of the 59 players who will be drafted. One of the prospects expected to be among the first few names off the board is Rutgers Scarlet Knights forward Ace Bailey.

Bailey was considered a contender for the No. 2 pick behind Cooper Flagg before recently slipping behind teammate Dylan Harper for that position. With Bailey considered to be an option for the No. 3 pick but with room to potentially fall further, the 19-year-old forward will hope to solidify his position before June 25.

Bailey's self-confidence is clear, as he showed on ESPN's Draft Combine broadcast when asked about two strengths and one weakness in his game. Bailey gave the perfect response for a player who believes in his quality play.

"Ain't got no weaknesses and I got more than two strengths, big dog."

Bailey averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in his sole NCAA season. While his Combine height results (6'7" barefoot) have disappointed interested teams, his ceiling as a potential modern version of Tracy McGrady with his lanky frame and scoring ability will be too attractive to pass up on.

The win-now Philadelphia 76ers at No. 3 could look at VJ Edgecombe as their choice, with VJ believed to be among the best perimeter defenders in the draft. The Charlotte Hornets have the space and time to develop Bailey, but might look for a better-fitting option instead of putting Bailey alongside Brandon Miller.

Falling to the Utah Jazz at No. 5 or further would be a nightmare situation for Bailey, so he has to hope these interviews further endear him to potentially interested teams rather than chase them away.

The 76ers at No. 3 is what Bailey will be hoping for, but it's a franchise with a lot of worries already.
