Not only did Alabama produce the most outstanding offensive performance of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, but it might have also been the greatest scoring showcase in the history of the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide blew past the previous record of 21 with 25 3-pointers, and guards Mark Sears, Aden Holloway, and Chris Youngblood combined for 21 of the 25.
In the game, Alabama shot 77% of its shots from behind the arc, and that wasn't by accident.
"For these two guys next to me (Youngblood and Sears and myself), an open three is like a layup," Holloway said. "We're happy with 77% of our shots coming from three."
Youngblood broke down what it takes to keep those three-pointers flying.
"If we don't take one dribble too much or we're (not) playing selfish, and we're ready to move the ball, we're capable of having 80% or 77% of our shots being 3's," Youngblood said. "That's pretty simple."
On a night where everything came it easy for Alabama and the game was in hand for much of the second half, the focus shifted towards the Tide's Elite Eight matchup. Offense will be much more difficult for Alabama when it matched up with No. 1 seed Duke.
The title favorite Blue Devils boast not only the No. 1 offensive in KenPom's rankings but also the No. 5 defense. On Thursday night, Alabama went up against a BYU team that had the No. 82-ranked defense according to KenPom.
Sears, Holloway, and Youngblood will need to carry over some of that scorching hot shooting if the Tide wants to advance to its second straight Final Four.
