As Duke continues stacking talent for the future, one legendary voice in college hoops is giving Jon Scheyer his flowers.
“Amazing is what @DukeMBB’s coach @JonScheyer is doing annually in recruiting,” Dick Vitale posted Friday on X, reacting to the Blue Devils’ latest roster addition.
That addition is Sebastian Wilkins, a 6-foot-8 combo forward who committed to Duke over Maryland and reclassified from the 2026 class to 2025.
The Georgia native will now enroll in Durham this fall and joins the Blue Devils as the No. 47 overall prospect in the updated 2025 rankings.
Wilkins has quietly emerged as one of the more intriguing long-term bets in the class.
A former wing with ball-handling ability, he’s added size and range while improving his decision-making and defensive awareness.
He’s the kind of modern forward who doesn’t need plays run for him to impact the game—capable of defending across multiple positions, stretching the floor, and thriving in transition.
His growth over the past two years has been steady and significant.
Once viewed as more of a developmental piece, Wilkins now profiles as a versatile utility forward who could carve out a rotational role early and grow into something more.
With a 6-foot-10-plus wingspan, mobility, and feel, he fits the mold of the switchable defenders Duke has increasingly prioritized under Scheyer.
His reclassification accelerates his timeline—but it’s the long-term ceiling that’s most exciting.
For a program that just made the Final Four and is reloading with top-tier talent again after Cooper Flagg's departure, Wilkins’ addition is another example of how Duke continues to stack upside on upside.
