One of the top returning pieces for the Utah is officially on the move.

Forward Keanu Dawes is entering the transfer portal, according to his agents, Brandon Grier and Rob Murphy of Equity Sports. The departure marks a significant loss for Utah as the program looks to build momentum heading into the offseason.

Dawes, a 6-foot-9 junior, was one of the Utes’ most productive and versatile players this past season. He averaged 12.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, showcasing a well-rounded skill set that made him a focal point in Utah’s frontcourt. His ability to rebound at a high level while also facilitating offense added valuable flexibility to the lineup.

For a Utah team navigating the ever-changing landscape of college basketball, losing a player with Dawes’ production is no small blow. Players with his size and statistical output are highly sought after in the portal, and he’s likely to draw significant interest from high-major programs looking to add experience and frontcourt depth. With the transfer portal continuing to reshape rosters nationwide, Utah now finds itself needing to replace one of its most reliable performers.

As for Dawes, the next step will be finding the right fit where his skill set can continue to flourish. Given his production and size, he figures to be one of the more intriguing names to watch as portal activity ramps up.
