The Louisville Cardinals men's basketball program had a strong year in Pat Kelsey's first season as the head coach. They finished 27-8 overall and 18-2 in conference play, which is a massive step in the right direction after some tough seasons.
The former Charleston head coach came over to Louisville, and it resulted in an NCAA Tournament trip, although the Cardinals lost in the first round to Creighton.
Unfortunately, the roster is dealing with a big shake-up.
Chucky Hepburn, Reyne Smith, Terrence Edwards Jr., Aboubacar Traore, Noah Waterman and Frank Anselem-Ibe are all leaving due to no eligibility.
Koren Johnson entered the portal after transferring previously from Washington, and he wound up at Ole Miss.
On Monday, Louisville got some big news on the recruiting front by landing Class of 2025 four-star power forward Mouhamed Camara, per Travis Branham of 247Sports.
The 6-foot-7 recruit is from the NBA Academy in Africa, and he will join a talented Class of 2025 group that includes five-star Mikel Brown, Sananda Fru, and transfer Isaac McKneely, Ryan Conwell and Adrian Wooley.
When asked why he picked Louisville, Camara said it's because "The way they develop players and they are a winning team," per Branham.
Louisville also brought in another international player in Sananda Fru, who came from Germany and has a four-star rating, per 247Sports.
After the NCAA Tournament, ESPN's Jeff Borzello had Louisville ranked at No. 4 in the way-too-early rankings, so this is yet another piece to add to a talented roster for the second year of the Kelsey era.
