North Carolina Tar Heels guard RJ Davis recently capped off his fifth season with the program, having established himself as one of the best players in school history.
Davis and the Tar Heels entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 11 seed in the South Region and wound up losing to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Following the season, which ended with a disappointing March Madness loss for UNC, a couple of players announced their intention to enter the transfer portal.
Tar Heels forward Jalen Washington was one of the few players transferring out of UNC. After his decision to leave the program, Washington committed to Vanderbilt.
After his commitment to the Commodores, Davis sent Washington an encouraging message.
"Go be great gango," Davis said.
Washington spent three years with the North Carolina Tar Heels. During his final season with the program, he averaged 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds.
The talented forward established himself as a key player in UNC's lineup, starting in 16 of 36 games for the Tar Heels.
During his three-year career at North Carolina, Washington averaged 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Davis finished his fifth season with the UNC Tar Heels averaging 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He capped off his five-year career with the program averaging 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
