Former UNLV Runnin’ Rebel center Pape N’Diaye has joined the mass exodus to the transfer portal after the firing of former coach Kevin Kruger.
N’Diaye has quickly found a new home at Xavier, the center committed to his new team on Tuesday evening.
The new Musketeer stands seven-foot tall and hails from the Ivory Coast.
Coming out of high school, he was a three-star recruit and ranked as the 97th player in his recruiting class. N’Diaye received offers from a number of big schools such as the Kansas Jayhawks, UCF Knights, Boise State Broncos, and Xavier.
In his freshman season with the Runnin’ Rebels, N’Diaye averaged 2.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks, while playing 13.1 minutes per game. With eligibility time remaining, N’Diaye has barely scratched his potential.
The Musketeers see him as a long-term contributor to their success.
He is the fifth player that Xavier has swooped up from the transfer portal. They have made some significant moves since the offseason has started.
Not only was Xavier successful in the transfer portal game, but they also have a new coach in Richard Pitino, who has a clear vision for building up his program piece by piece.
N’Diyae still has three years of eligibility to left.
The transfer portal closes April 22.
