Grant McCasland and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have a new opponent on the schedule for 2025-26, with a December matchup against the LSU Tigers.

CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein was the first to break the news, saying, “Texas Tech and LSU will meet in a neutral site game at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Dec. 7th.”

As he does each season, Rothstein released his updated Top 45, and has the Red Raiders listed inside the preseason Top 10. With its current roster, Texas Tech is listed at No. 9 entering the third year of the Grant McCasland era.

While the Red Raiders still have some more time to improve through the transfer portal, Rothstein has them listed with a starting five of Christian Anderson, Donovan Atwell, LeJuan Watts, Josiah Moseley, and JT Toppin.

On the opposite side of the court, LSU did not make the Preseason Top 45, and still has a long way to go. Under Matt McMahon, the Tigers have yet to make the NCAA Tournament, sitting at a combined 45-48 in the past three seasons.

While the official announcement has yet to be made by the two programs, the two are expected to see each other on Sunday, December 7th in Ft. Worth, Texas.
