The top five most intriguing 2025 recruiting classes around the country include a mix of traditional blue-blood teams and other quality programs. Heavyweight squads such as Duke and Houston have hauled in tremendous 2025 cycles, but they’re not alone. Several teams also possess excellent 2025 classes, even if they aren’t as highly ranked.

Top Five Most Intriguing 2025 Recruiting Classes

Duke Blue Devils

Okay, so this is an obvious choice, but the Blue Devils must reside on this list. Duke’s five-member prep class in 2025 is No. 1 nationally, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. The headliner is five-star power forward Cameron Boozer, a top-three national prospect in his class. His twin brother, four-star point guard Cayden Boozer, is also a fres hman in Durham, N.C., during the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.

Head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff also brought in five-star power forward Nikolas Khamenia, five-star shooting guard Dame Sarr and four-star forward Sebastian Wilkins. Year after year, the Blue Devils reload at the high school level.

Houston Cougars

Houston, which defeated Duke in this spring’s Final Four before losing to Florida in the title game, has quality and quantity in its 2025 class. The Cougars possess four prep commits, and three of them are rated five stars. Leading the way is five-star power forward/center Chris Cenac Jr., a top-10 national prospect.

Houston’s 2025 cycle, No. 3 nationwide, also features five-star shooting guard Isiah Harwell, five-star point guard Kingston Flemings and four-star shooting guard Bryce Jackson. Experts believe that head coach Kelvin Sampson’s team will yet again significantly contend for a Final Four berth come next spring. The same can be said about Duke.

Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks have an interesting class. Kansas, at No. 9 overall, has a six-member 2025 cycle. It is led by five-star guard Darryn Peterson, the No. 1 national prospect in his class. Peterson is one of the top freshmen to ever come on board for this storied college basketball program. While he’s the main event for the Jayhawks, head coach Bill Self did n’t stop there in 2025.

Other members of this Kansas class are four-star shooting guard Kohl Rosario, four-star small forward Samis Calderon, three-star shooting guard Corbin Allen, four-star center Paul Mbiya and point guard Nginyu Ngala. The Jayhawks had a disappointing 2024-25, by their standards, although the team’s 2025 class, especially Peterson, could help propel Kansas back to its usual dominance this season.

Syracuse Orange

The Orange’s five-member 2025 class is No. 17, per the 247Sports Composite. While not ranked as high as others, this Syracuse cycle holds promise. Leading the way are four-star forward Sadiq White Jr., four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony and four-star combo guard Luke Fennell. White and Anthony, the son of Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, are good, long-time friends.

Fennell, before joining the Orange, played professionally in Australia. He could ultimately receive more minutes for Syracuse in 2025-26 than any other freshman on the team’s roster. Filling out this Orange 2025 class are three-star wing Aaron Womack, who was a prolific scorer in high school, and three-star center Tiefing Diawara, a developmental player who provides depth in the middle.

BYU Cougars

BYU’s 2025 class, inclusive of high school prospects and college transfers, is No. 4 overall. At the prep level, the Cougars are No. 18 and have three signees, including the No. 2 national prospect in the 2025 cycle. He is AJ Dybantsa, a five-star small forward who proved a major recruiting win for BYU when he selected the Cougars.

The team’s 2025 class also features four-star power forward Chamberlain Burgess and four-star center Xavion Staton. Given what the Cougars did in the transfer portal, along with landing Dybantsa and multiple key players returning from last season, experts anticipate that BYU will be a preseason top-10 squad ahead of 2025-26 getting underway.
