The Connecticut Huskies have been a dominant force in college basketball over the past three seasons. After capturing back-to-back national championships under head coach Dan Hurley in 2023 and 2024, UConn's reign came to an end in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated in the Round of 32 in a hard-fought battle against the Florida Gators.
With the spring transfer portal window now closed, the Huskies have made several key roster moves to reload around their core of returning players.
Hurley has successfully retained key contributors including Solo Ball, Alex Karaban, Tarris Reed Jr., and Jaylin Stewart. In addition, UConn struck gold in the transfer portal, landing several major additions — most notably guard Silas Demary Jr., who had been testing the NBA Draft waters.
On Monday, the Huskies received confirmation that Demary has officially withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will suit up for UConn this coming season — a significant boost for Hurley’s roster in Storrs.
The news was first reported by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, who noted that Demary's father confirmed the decision. Demary played the past two seasons at Georgia and was instrumental in helping the Bulldogs reach the NCAA Tournament this past year.

Transfer from Georgia who should be a major part of a revamped roster in Storrs.
Last season, Silas Demary Jr. averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting an impressive 37.4% from three-point range. He’s expected to be a strong fit in the backcourt alongside UConn’s returning guards.
Head coach Dan Hurley also added Dayton transfer Malachi Smith, further bolstering a roster that now blends valuable experience with incoming talent.
With several returners and key portal additions, the Huskies are poised to maintain their competitive edge, especially with a highly touted freshman class joining the program.
According to the official UConn Huskies roster, the team currently features 11 players, including Demary Jr. The breakdown includes four seniors, four juniors, and three freshmen: Jacob Furphy, Braylon Mullins, and Eric Reibe.
