Last season with the Gamecocks, Ugusuk posted 5.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game on 38.4% shooting from the field. He also connected on 40.7% of shots from three-point range and 76.9% from the charity stripe.
Coming out of Omnia Basketball Academy in the Class of 2023, Ugusuk was listed as an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services. Just two seasons later, however, the Finnish native earned a three-star transfer portal ranking by On3 and was listed as the 512th-ranked player available and the 45th-ranked player at his position.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in the 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
