No. 21 Iowa defeats No. 18 Iowa State in Cy-Hawk Series

The post Caitlin Clark era is going well for the lady Iowa Hawkeyes, as they improved to 9-1 after a 75-69 victory over Iowa State on Wednesday.

The loss for Iowa State dropped its record on the season to 8-3.

Trailing by three headed into the fourth quarter, the lady Hawkeyes outscored the lady Cyclones by nine points to come away with the six-point victory.

Lucy Olsen led the lady Hawkeyes with 25 points and five assists. Olson was 9-22 from the field and was 7-9 from the free throw line.

Iowa had two other players in double figures: Sydney Affolter with 16 points and Hannah Stuelke with 13 points and nine rebounds. Affolter's 16 was well above her season average of 6.1 points per game.

Iowa State's Audi Crooks finished the game with 31 points and 10 rebounds, making it her third straight game with a double-double. Addy Brown was the only other Cyclone in double figures with 13 points.

Iowa State will return home to play Eastern Illinois on Dec. 15 before travelling to No. 2 UConn on Dec. 17.

Iowa will hit the road and travel to East Lansing to take on No. 17 Michigan State on Dec. 15.
