Hailey Van Lith's career has had its ups and downs, but her first and final season with the TCU Horned Frogs was as close to a perfect ending as possible.
Just one year after Van Lith struggled to fit in on a loaded LSU roster, she ended up helping transcend a TCU program that had experienced very little success in year's past. Van Lith led the team to a program record 34 wins, soaring by the previous high of 25. She also helped the program win its first-ever Big 12 Tournament title, secure its highest seed (No. 2) in the NCAA Tournament in program history and led TCU to its first-ever Elite Eight.
En route to being named an All-American, Van Lith led the team in points (17.9), assists (5.4) and steals (1.2) per game. A stellar season that has seen her fly up WNBA draft boards, but could've also made replacing her a difficult task for head coach Mark Campbell.
However, as revealed by ESPN's Shams Charania, the Horned Frogs landed Notre Dame transfer Olivia Miles, who ESPN ranked as the No. 2 transfer available.
TCU actually ended Miles' season in the NCAA Tournament, knocking the Fighting Irish out in the Sweet 16. However, that certainly shouldn't diminish the strong season that Miles had, as she was second on the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game, and led the team in assists with 5.8 per game.
Despite battling injuries, Miles still performed well enough to be named an AP All-American this season, marking the second time in her career. She also was named All-ACC for the third time in her career.
Replacing Van Lith's impact will be difficult for TCU, but bringing in Miles could certainly do the trick.
