Sam Faniel reported an offer from Alabama football and Kalen DeBoer after camping over the weekend.

Faniel attends Benedictine College Preparatory in Richmond, Virginia. He now holds recent offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan State and others.

Faniel’s Alabama offer is a significant one for him because of his dad’s connection to the state.

“This is big for me,” Faniel told Touchdown Alabama. “My dad is from Alabama and has been a Tide fan since I can remember. This one definitely means a lot to me because I also grew up watching this team being the powerhouse of all of college football.”

Alabama’s staff let Faniel know what about his game led to his offer after camp.

“They said my movements were good as well as my explosiveness and route-running technique,” said Faniel.

At 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, Faniel has an opportunity to be one of the best receiving tight end prospects in the 2027 class. His size makes him an immediate mismatch. He is also a willing blocker, who possesses an explosive burst for a guy his size.

“I feel that I block very well, and I believe I’m also good at getting yards after catch as that was where most of my yards this season came from,” Faniel said.
