Quarterback Jalen Milroe is coming off an interesting season for the Alabama Crimson Tide, completing 205-of-319 passes for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 148.8 passing efficiency rating.
Those numbers aren't exactly amazing, but when you factor in the 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, it makes Milroe one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, and extremely hard to tell where he will end up.
In a mock draft done by Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports, he predicts that the Alabama product will be selected in the second round by the New York Giants with the No. 35 pick.
Of course, it's an interesting prediction considering the Giants just signed free agent Russell Wilson to a one-year, $10.5 million contract, with the idea that he will be the team's starter in 2025.
However, the idea of having Milroe sit for at least a year to better understand the playing speed of the NFL and his new team's offense before getting thrown into the fire is, for many, considered to be an ideal scenario.
There are also many worse players that he can sit behind than Wilson, who in his 13-year career has been named to 10 Pro Bowls, been to two Super Bowls, winning one and was the recipient of the 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
If Milroe can return to being the same consistent passer that in 2023 for Alabama threw for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions, then the Giants could be looking at their new franchise quarterback.
