Alabama QB Ty Simpson makes NFL Draft decision

Alabama football’s starting quarterback Ty Simpson is set to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, per multiple reports.

Simpson is a former five-star, who signed with Alabama and waited three seasons for a chance to earn the starting quarterback role. He proved himself to be one of the best quarterbacks in the sport, despite the Tide’s rushing attack being nonexistent at times in 2025. His pass protection was also not the best in key games against great defenses.

The Tennessee native still managed to throw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns, while only throwing five interceptions. His biggest hiccups came in the form of fumbles. He fumbled the football seven times as a starter.

Simpson has an opportunity to improve on a solid draft stock in the pre-draft process. He was once thought of as a first-round quarterback. It is not crazy to think he can be back in that conversation in the future.
