Unfortunately for No. 22 Arizona, freshman wideout R.J. Mosley suffered a season-ending injury this Saturday against No. 13 Texas Tech.
Mosley, a former four-star recruit from Pittsburgh High School, came into this Saturday’s game with six catches for 99 yards on the season. During the third quarter of this afternoon’s showdown, he tried to make a play for the Wildcats on an eight-yard reception.
As Mosley was trying to turn upfield, a Texas Tech defender hit him right in his left knee. The Arizona wideout immediately knew something was wrong once he hit the turf.
Arizona’s players were understandably devastated by Mosley’s injury. Some even stood there in disbelief as he was receiving medical assistance. ESPN made the classy decision to not show any replays of Mosley’s injury.
“We’re being told this is an injury we’re not going to show the audience,” said ESPN announcer Dave Pasch.
We won’t share the footage here since it’s graphic, but Mosley’s injury has been shared on social media.
“Zona WR Mosley grabbed his knee immediately. That was bad. Glad they’re not going to reshow that. Brutal injury for that young man,” one person wrote on X.
“Prayers for Mosley. Brutal injury,” a second person commented. “Hope for a speedy recovery.”
“R.J. Mosley injury is the worst injury I’ve seen all year,” another fan said.
We’re certainly wishing Mosley a full and speedy recovery.
