Heading into the season, the Arizona State Sun Devils were given little chance to stay competitive, let alone compete for the Big 12 title.
Many analysts, including ESPN's preseason power rankings, agreed that ASU's likely landing spot was the bottom of the conference.
However, after a miraculous 10-2 season, the Sun Devils secured the opportunity to face off against Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game. ASU walked away with an impressive 45-19 win.
Post-game, the official X account of ESPN posted a video of running back Cam Skattebo claiming, "We were picked dead last man, I just want to say WE ON TOP!"

Of course, it was a full-team effort from everyone at ASU. However, it's fitting that Skattebo himself won the Big 12 championship MVP and is the one to call out the doubters.
He finished the game with 16 rushes for 170 yards, two touchdowns, 38 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown.
Through ASU's 13 games this season, he's accounted for 2,074 scrimmage yards and 22 touchdowns.
The performance might have shown that he deserves to be among the four players selected to attend the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.
If not, though, many NFL teams will line up to draft someone who runs this tough and has as high of a motor as Skattebo
