A four-star Auburn quarterback is about to enter the transfer portal following Jackson Arnold's commitment.
Per Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Auburn freshman quarterback Walker White is expected to enter the transfer portal.
White is the third-best in his home state (Arkansas) and the eighth-best quarterback recruit in the 2024 class, per 247Sports composite rankings. He's also the No. 107 overall recruit, regardless of position.
This comes after Jackson Arnold committed to Auburn out of the portal. He entered the portal less than two weeks ago and committed to Auburn on Saturday.
Arnold played in 10 games for Oklahoma this season and had some mixed results. He won his first three starts before the losses started to pile up but he still finished the season with 1,421 yards through the air, 12 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He also added 444 yards and three touchdowns on the ground this season.
Arnold is hoping that a fresh start with a new program, especially under head coach Hugh Freeze, can raise his game to the level where he thinks he can be.
It was a tough 2024 season for Auburn, only winning five games and not even going to a bowl game. Auburn had a chance to be bowl-eligible in its final game of the 2024 season but lost by two scores to Alabama.
Freeze has been at Auburn for two seasons, totaling an 11-14 record. He's hoping that will turn around when the 2025 season gets underway in August.
Before that, he coached at Liberty for four seasons, Ole Miss for five seasons, and Arkansas State for one season.
