Auburn’s Keldric Faulk Ranked No. 5 Edge Rusher Returning in College Football
Jake Crandall/ Advertiser / USA TODAY NETWORK

Under the leadership of head coach Hugh Freeze, Auburn is entering the 2025 college football season with a renewed sense of purpose and high expectations. At the center of their defensive strategy stands edge rusher Keldric Faulk, who has been ranked as the No. 2 returning edge rusher in college football by Pro Football Focus.

Last season, Faulk was a disruptive force for the Tigers, amassing seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. His ability to wreak havoc on opposing offenses solidified him as one of the nation’s premier pass rushers.

Faulk's athleticism and versatility have drawn comparisons to elite defenders, and his leadership has earned him the respect of teammates and coaches alike.

Auburn’s defensive unit will lean heavily on Faulk’s presence as they navigate transitions prompted by key departures from last year’s squad. The Tigers are also welcoming a top-ten recruiting class, featuring several promising defenders eager to make their mark.

Among them are standout defensive linemen recruits Malik Autry and Jared Smith, whose talents could bolster Auburn’s defensive front and complement Faulk's dominance on the edge.

The 2025 schedule presents plenty of challenges for Auburn, starting with their season opener on the road against Baylor. Faulk’s skill, combined with the Tigers’ defensive talent, positions them well to compete against the best teams in the SEC.

His performance this season is likely to elevate the defense and energize the Auburn fan base. Entering his junior year, Faulk's play could very well define Auburn’s path forward in 2025.
