The Wisconsin Badgers may have not received the intended result on the field against the Maryland Terrapins, but the game-day experience still proved to be excellent.
Wisconsin invited a variety of recruits to the game that included some 2028 recruits who have recently appeared on the radar of the staff. One such recruit who attended the game was Drew Sheridan, a quarterback who attends Divine Child High School in Michigan which is where former 2026 three-star Wisconsin target Marcello Vitti also goes to school. The program has become one the Badgers tend to come back to, and Sheridan has been a player who has continued to look impressive during each scouting run.
Wisconsin had been keeping a close eye on the recruit for the past few months before securing a game-day visit with the recruit. Currently, the Badgers have reportedly not extended a scholarship to the recruit yet, but the programs that have are Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), Pittsburgh, and Toledo. Michigan State has been another program who have yet to extend an offer, but have displayed strong interest in the recruit.
“Recruiting has been pretty active since I was in 8th grade going to camps and practices and just meeting coaches and studying systems. I’m really looking for a family atmosphere, great relationships with coaches, and a system that fits my play style,” stated Sheridan regarding the recruiting process.
While the Badgers’ staff focused on the game on the field, Sheridan and many other recruits had the chance to soak in the full experience of attending a game at Camp Randall. When asked about the experience of visiting Madison, Sheridan stated, “My visit to Wisconsin was great I really like how passionate the fan base is. I spoke to coach Spalding who recruits Michigan and quarterbacks Coach Guiton who I have been building a relationship with.”
For Wisconsin, running back coach Devon Spalding and quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton have been leading the recruitment of Sheridan.
Sheridan took the time to imagine what the vibe of being on the field as a player would be like, adding, “I also loved the atmosphere from the field looking up into the stadium. I could definitely see myself as a Badger.” While nothing is certain about moving forward with another visit yet, Sheridan stated, “I will definitely be back as everything progresses.”
As a 2028 recruit, the quarterback has received attention from colleges long before hitting the high school circuit. Sheridan has done plenty to standout on the field, and when asked about what has led to his advanced exposure, the recruit stated, “On the field for me I started on varsity as a freshman and played at a high level with lots of film.”
“Something that sets me apart is the cerebral aspect of my game. I was taught at a young age how to break down film. I can read fronts, call protections, and play fast. I work hard with my mechanics and am constantly working on these things in the off-season,” added Sheridan.
Moving forward, the Badgers will certainly continue to be involved with Sheridan as the quarterback navigates his way through another pivotal season. With a good year on the field and the continued success he has had off of the field, Sheridan will certainly have a handful of power conference offers to boast in the future.
