Last Word’s record on the week six card was the best performance in 2025. Both against the spread and the totals went 4-3. Moneyline picks were 6-1, and the lock (while needing a goal-line stand) cashed as well. In a standard golf tournament, the field is cut roughly in half after the first two rounds. Any golfer who survives being cut is guaranteed to get paid. Teams are playing their third or fourth conference game, which means we are hovering around 50% of the conference schedule being completed. Which teams out of our Big 12 week seven winners will survive the cut and keep conference championship hopes alive? All lines are courtesy of FanDuel.

Moneyline: 53-11

Totals: 25-30

The Bearcats are coming off a paradigm-shifting win over Iowa State. While the AP voters just kept Cincy out of the top 25, Scott Satterfield’s team now has a new glow about it. Brendan Sorsby is quickly gaining steam as one of the best quarterbacks in the conference. Now, UCF comes to town, and the Knights have been feisty. If UCF were the home team, the Bearcats would be on upset alert. But while a letdown is anticipated, the Bearcats will avoid the stubbing of their toe and get the win. However, the Knights do enough to keep the final score within 10 points.

This won’t be the prettiest game on the Big 12 week seven slate. Last week in their loss to Texas Tech, quarterback Conner Weigman was knocked out of the game with an “upper body” injury. Head coach Willie Fritz said on Monday that Weigman was even going to participate in Monday’s practice, but he was down with a cold and not feeling too well. “We’re looking forward to having him play for us on Saturday,” Fritz said. Even if Weigman is only at 80% on Saturday, they should cruise to an easy victory over the hapless Cowboys.
Moneyline: Houston ATS: Houston Total 46.5: Under
The question on everyone’s mind is how Iowa State will bounce back after suffering its first loss. They now have to travel up to altitude and take on a Colorado team dealing with its own issues. Head coach Deion Sanders announced he was having surgery on Wednesday to address blood clots in his legs. No status of his availability for this game, but certainly we hope surgery goes well for Coach Prime. Even without this hanging over the program, Iowa State is just the better team. While down two starting cornerbacks for the season, the Cyclones should be able to bounce back against the Buffaloes.
Moneyline: Iowa State ATS: Iowa State Total 52.5: Over
The Battle of Purple is the place for our Big 12 week seven winners’ lock of the week. Kansas State’s defense has been dreadful this year. Now, they must find a way to slow down Josh Hoover and a very potent offense. Spoiler alert: it won’t happen. But the Wildcats’ offense seems to be rounding into shape nicely. While disappointing it took as long as it did, Avery Johnson is looking more like the dynamic playmaker many thought he would be. This has all the makings of a classic Big 12 shootout, so lock up the over on this one. Sonny Dykes team will ultimately survive their trip to The Little Apple with a last-minute touchdown drive.
Moneyline: TCU ATS: TCU Total 55.5: Over
No Big 12 team is hotter right now than Joey McGuire’s Red Raiders. They return home looking to keep the good times rolling in Lubbock. If they want to ensure it is a sweat-free kind of win, Texas Tech has to improve its execution in the red zone. While Lance Leipold’s squad presents some new challenges to their ferocious defense, the home team should cruise in this one.
Moneyline: Texas Tech ATS: Texas Tech Total 59.5: Over
Through the first five games of the Big 12 week seven winners, we were all chalk. That changes in the late-night window. It is very surprising to see this spread at essentially a pick ‘em game. BYU’s schedule hasn’t been the strongest, but they haven’t had any issues on their way to a 5-0 start. Arizona did not look very competitive in its only loss to Iowa State this season. But something about getting to tune up against Oklahoma State has us believing that the ‘Cats are due. Noah Fifita stresses the BYU defense in ways they haven’t this year and leads Arizona to an upset victory.
Moneyline: Arizona ATS: Arizona Total 48.5: Over
If that upset wasn’t enough for the readers, boy howdy do we have something in the last kickoff of the Big 12 week seven winners. Coming into the season, Last Word had Utah playing Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship. If they are going to continue on that path, they would have to beat the defending champs. However, Kenny Dillingham’s squad has a zombie-like quality about it. No matter how down they get, they will just keep on coming. Both teams are coming off a bye week in preparation for this one. This is the game where the entire conference is reminded how explosive the Sam Leavitt to Jordyn Tyson connection can be. The Muss ultimately leaves quietly as the Sun Devils get the outright victory.
