The Boston College Eagles hired Bill O’Brien as their new head coach this past offseason, signaling a new era for the program. This season, the Eagles are playing with intensity and toughness. Defensively, Boston College is anchored by EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku. Ezeiruaku was a three-star prospect out of high school in 2020 but has taken a massive step forward this season as a senior. According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Ezeiruaku has a consensus ranking of 57th overall.
Before this season, Donovan Ezeiruaku’s best year was in 2022, in which he finished with 61 total tackles and 8.5 sacks. Additionally, he forced three fumbles. The game seems to be slowing down for the four-year pass rusher.
Donovan Ezeiruaku plays with violent hands and aggressiveness off the edge for the Boston College Eagles. He has a long stride off the line of scrimmage, too. He needs to improve his technique, but he’s a ball hawk in the trenches. At defensive end, Ezeiruaku creates drive inside to collapse the pocket. However, he is the strongest as an outside linebacker focused primarily on rushing the passer. He showcased his skills with a total of 7 tackles against Virginia this season. We can also look at BC’s game against Western Kentucky this season when Exeiruaku finished with 9 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble.
In my latest mock draft, I had Boston College EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku coming off the board 28th to the Detroit Lions. In my opinion, his draft stock is going to continue to soar this draft cycle. He was named to the 12th annual Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist. A big performance in Mobile could propel him even further up draft boards this offseason.
Boston College has four out of the five remaining games left this season at home. This includes tough matchups against Louisville, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh.
