Heisman Trophy finalists Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty headline the Action Network’s 2024 All-America team.
Jeanty was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Hunter the Defensive Player of the Year and Georgia’s Brett Thorson the special teams player of the year.
There are six players listed as first-team All-Americans representing schools that qualified for the College Football Playoff: defensive end Abdul Carter (Penn State), defensive tackle Alfred Collins (Texas), cornerbacks Jahdae Barron (Texas) and Jermod McCoy (Tennessee), and safeties Caleb Downs (Ohio State) and Xavier Watts (Notre Dame).
Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. (Texas) is the lone first-team offensive selection in the playoff. Also, Georgia’s Brett Thorson was the first-team selection at punter.
There are 39 schools represented on the 52-player first- and second-teams. Nine teams had multiple selections: Arizona State, Bowling Green, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan Ole Miss, Penn State and Texas.
